Todays Class's
I was working with Amanda and John; In this class we took the computer components out of the computer then looked at each peice. I learned about how the computer works with the motherboard and how everything is linked by the IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics.) - these are the grey wide but thin cables linking up to the major components; EG: CD-Rom Drive.
We had to do some safety things too, we used anti static wrist bands with small crocodile clips (these are to link up to any metal part on the computers "shell") we also stood on red mats, this was to stop the friction coming from the carpet up threw out body's and shocking us when we use the PC.
Then after it was all rebuilt and put back together, we filled out a task sheet on what problems etc we had on the computer.

Great Scottish Inventor
Hello Mr Bell, good of you to join me:
Hello Graham, thanks for having me:
Graham: So tell me a little about your child hood?
Bell: well, i was born in Edinburgh on march 3rd 1847 and stayed on a street called "south Charlotte street" i had two brothers but sadly one died when i was was 21 and then the other when i was 23 because of the decease tuberculosis. then my mother was going def so i took up form's of sign language.
Graham: So is it safe to say that because of your family's series of unfortunate events you came around with the idea of the telephone? which is a huge thing now a days.
Bell: Well actually its more of my whole life Ive been around speech, my father was a professor in elocution (this is the studies of formal speech) so i was always at his lectures and experiments, then one time when we were in Bell's father encouraged Alec's interest in speech and in 1863, took his sons to see an automaton exhibit, developed by Sir Charles Wheatstone based on the earlier work of Baron Wolfgang Von Kempelen. this was basically a model of a head which could speak, but very simple words and very few. so after this i kind of felt this is were i am going to make a difference.
Graham: Well since you made the telephone, it has massively exploded, everyone has what we call mobile phones... this is a hand held, no wires phone..
Bell: Really?? wow, i thought that i was just making something that would be good for my generation.. i guess Ive created something that's gone down in history *smiles*
Graham: Yes sir.. i do believe you have.
Graham: Their is not Meany other world famous inventions you have done that we all know and recognise but, that was defiantly the best one. - how does that make you feel?
Bell: Makes me feel very proud to contribute to the human race in a scale i could never have imagined.
Graham: Oh and i almost forgot to tell you! You are actually on the Scottish £1 note, the "pound currency came in after the shillings" this is to mark your 150Th anniversary from when you were born, i belive it was made in august 1997.. would that be correct?
Bell: I'm honored about that, i truly am. and yes, that would be about right.
Graham: Well thank you for spending this time with me to i could interview you.
Bell: My pleasure.. it was very informative about the future with my invention.

Short Informative Peice..... Class Work.
My name is Graham Thompson I'm from Ballater, which is a small village of around 1500 people situated on the A93 (near Lochneigar.. if you know what that is) its a really nice place to live, beautiful scenery etc.. anyway, im around 5"10 (don't actually know)black long hair, blue eyes, white skin, and i work in a Hilton which again is in Ballater.
Why you have chosen this course:
I have chosen this course because I'm very interested in software and web design, i eventually hope to go on and do software development for an oil company some were and then have my own games website too... just an idea.. never know :-)
My hopes and fears about the coming year:
Well... firstly i hope to pass the course and progress on to the software side of computers by next year, should i fail.. i may resit or i will just go get a job again.
My fears... i dunno really, maybe my Girl friend leaves me and i then stumble in to a suicidal phenomenon that eventually gets the better of me and i decide to kill my family for being nosy.. lol i doubt it tho.
Hobbies and Interests:
My hobbies are: Golf, Snowboarding, Rock Climbing, Films, Kayaking, Swimming, Hillwalking and some more but i think that's enough.
My interests are: Computer Games, Computer Software.. (which i suppose a game is) Egyptology.. I'm quite amazed at what those guys can discover, Sharks.. i like to watch documentaries on shark attacks etc.
Well thats about it.... Cheers

Radio 1
We watched info on radio 1,
in this we saw the radio 1 studio, we also met,Zain Lowe, Colin and Eadith,
Alex Jones, Rod McKenzie, Nately Jamenson,
Andy Brown, Georgina Bowman, Julian Payne....
The history of radio 1 began back in 1920 were they played classic music because they
were trying to reach the upper class people of Britain.
then in 1964 a radio station being transmitted off a boat just offshore.. this was reaching the younger more youthful people of the UK, this was a huge success; their for radio1 had to modernise,in 1967 they came up with the 3 stages;
Home, Light, 3rd
I'm not really sure what they all mean but i know that the "light" broadcast is mainly for "day time" IE: to reach its new target listeners - who are between 16 - 30 Average.
People:
Zain Lowe - hosts a night time DJ show and hosts a chat room at the same time, that way people can text in and get to hear the music they want (or they can go on the chat room and chat to other listeners)
Colin and Eadith - they hold a show between 12-4pm in this show they interact with the general public: IE: playing games with them so they can win prizes. Again they allow people to text or phone in so again they keep the public involved.
Alex Jones - This man is the head of the music department, he has the final say over what music will be played on the day/week, this is if it is relevant to the show.
Rod McKenzie - This is the News Editor: he edits the news so that it is relevent and also informative for the expected age group the radio is trying to approach.
Nately Jamenson - Assistant News Editor.
Andy Brown - Reporter, he goes out in to the city's and finds story's, reads the magazines to find out good gossip etc.
Georgina Bowman - She is the news reader, she tells the story's that have been put in front of her also tells the traffic reports for the whole of UK.
Julian Payne - she deals with the press and publicity of the public: for example - if radio1 was playing at T in the Park, she would have to go out and make sure the venue can hold their gig stand and then put out fliers etc so people know about them being there.
In my opinion this was a very informative (long!) video, learned allot about the history about radio1 and what everyone does there at the station. i also enjoyed the entire "film"

Exercise 2 - Class Concert
**** <> ***** <> ****** <> ****
this song is a good song in my opinion (but then so are all the songs) just because its a great beat and exelent lyrics.. also makes you feel good inside and well, just happy :-)
(also it reminds me of my younger days ;-) you all know)
Bob Marly - No Woman No Cry
**** <> ***** <> ****** <> ****
What i thought of the song is that it is so simple word choice but! it works very well because everyone can relate to it.
Its a slow song and it just remindes me of say his relationship with someone and then he left him, or its the friends he has had who have left.
all and all its a very good song to relate to :-)
